I did something similar, but was to see the representation of males and females in tv commercials. You need to get about 50 or so pop videoes and using a tally chart put the women into groups to say what role they play. It's something like lead role, secondary role, icon secks etc. Not those titles, they were more like primary, secondary and some others. then you need to get your findings based on results to make up what role women play. Then you'll have to do i think it's a chi-squared test on your results. Can't remember how to do it, but you'll find something on the net. It has been about 4 years since i did this though. good luck
