Game Rules
By registering or logging in to Dream Shares you agree to abide by the following game rules:

  1. DreamShares is a game for fun. There are no entry fees and no cash prizes. As a result, players do not have to be over 18 to play. All gaming and gambling within the game is for fun. The fantasy currency within the game has no cash value outside of the game.
     
  2. Players may not gamble or play games derived from DreamShares. Players may not use any data within DreamShares for any purpose other than playing on the DreamShares website. No harvesting of data, whether using automated or manual means is permitted.
     
  3. You must use your real first and last names when setting up your account, as well as supplying proper address information. This is for identification purposes. Only one account is allowed per person.

    There are staff at DreamShares with the specific job of checking for people with multiple accounts. These accounts will be suspended as soon as they are found and their owners will be notified. There is an appeal procedure for players who think they are innocent - details will be sent upon the suspension of accounts.
     
  4. Players may not allow other DreamShares players to trade on their behalf under any circumstances. If you are not able to play the game for a period of time then we advise you to sell all your stocks.
     
  5. The price of team shares will overwhelmingly be determined by the team or player's performance. There will be a slight price change based on the volume of buying and selling of shares but this will be set at a level which does not promote instances of attempts at price fixing.

    Warning systems are built into the software to alert administrators to potential instances of price fixing. Determinations of price fixing will be made at the sole discretion of DreamShares and will result in immediate disqualification from the game.
     
  6. DreamShares will make all reasonable efforts to try to make price updates timely, comprehensive and accurate. However, for unovoidable reasons, some updates may take place some time after the event and some may not be applied at all. In these circumstances no compensation will be provided to any accounts.
     
  7. DreamShares puts a high priority on the availability of its servers and the reliability of its databases. However, despite the best of intentions, from time to time the game may not be available or data may be lost. On these occasions no compensation will be provided to any accounts.
     
  8. Messages containing foul language or abuse, whether they be in the chat room, forum or messaging system, will not be tolerated. Members who break this rule will be banned from the game and further action may be taken against them. Whether a message is considered to contain foul language or abuse is at the sole discretion of the DreamShares team.
     
  9. In cases where DreamShares deems it suitable, DreamShares will report abusive or other objectionable behaviour to the ISP or other organisation which provides internet access to the user concerned.
     
  10. DreamShares will retain a record of all messages in the chat room, forum and messaging system. This is for the purposes of monitoring them for foul language and abuse, and for determining to which service provider any reports of abuse should be sent to.
     
  11. DreamShares reserves the right to suspend or ban any account from the game without prior warning. Upon request it will usually supply the reason for the suspension or ban, but will not be obliged to do so.
